《毛主席传说》中有两个故事是有关春节的，这两个故事的英译工作已经完成，恰逢19年春节来临，现将这两个英文故事登出，以满足英语爱好者的需要。
1，New Year Dinner
The Spring Festival in 1949 was the last Spring Festival in Old China, and the next Spring Festival is New China.
During the Spring Festival this year, Chairman Mao was in Xibaipo. At the new year dinner, Chairman Mao greeted everyone: "Eat, eat, taste the fish in our Hutuo River. I believe that Chinese medicine and Chinese food will be China's two major contributions to the world."
Chairman Mao’s words at the new year dinner left a traditional Chinese New Year dish for the later generations – fish; a famous saying – Chinese medicine and Chinese food are China’s two major contributions to the world.
2，Red Army Bean Curd
When Red Army passed through the mountainous area of the Southern Sichuan, It was New Year. Chairman Mao sent a bag of soybeans to a poor family as a gift of New Year.
The poor family was unhappy for no food for New Year. When Chairman Mao sent soybeans to the family, the family became very happy. However, the family had five or six members, and a bag of soybeans was not enough!
Chairman Mao taught the family to make bean curd, and a bag of soybeans produced a pot of bean curd and a pot of bean dregs. The family praised Chairman Mao for turning a small bag of soybeans into so many things.
The family spread the method of making bean curd, and every household began to make bean curd.
The method of making bean curd was taught by Red Army, so the people here named bean curd "Red Army Bean Curd". |
