The position is responsible for all operational IT tasksrequired to maintain a mid-size network of servers.
Responsibilities:
Manage Windows and Linux servers for infrastructure, user services, and production telecom network.
Support of internet facing infrastructure (HTTP, DNS, SMTP, FTP)
Managing virtual servers
Monitoring of servers and processes
Managing of Micro Soft Active Directory accounts.
Support for local station issues as well as some remote branch support
Implementing best security practices
Troubleshooting server/workstation issues
Back up architecture and disaster recovery planning
IT architecture design and decisions
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years experience working with Windows and Linux
Knowledge of related services such as DNS, HTTP, SMTP and FTP
Knowledge of pfSense firewalls.
Understanding of application load balancers (pfSense/F5) an asset.
Knowledge of Linux based firewalls and networking
Experience with MicroSoft Active directory and MicroSoft SQL
Advanced Knowledge of TCP/IP and related Internet Protocols
Scripting experience (Bash, Perl)
Knowledge of SAN/NAS an asset(Dell Compellent, QNAP)
Knowledge of Xen virtual clustering environment an asset.
Broad understanding of IT architectures and technologies
Good interpersonal communications skills and a strong team player
Good skills at writing documentation
Good verbal and written communications skills
